The Bank Sahelo-Saharienne for Investment and Commerce (BSIC) Group held its Annual General Meeting of the Board of Governors and Directors on January 16–17, 2026, hosted by The Gambia at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre.

BSIC has its main headquarters in Tripoli, Libya, and stands for the Sahelo-Saharienne Bank for Investment and Commerce, or in French Banque Sahelo-Saherienne Pour L'Investment et Le Commerce.
BSIC opened its first branch in the Gambia on Kairaba Avenue (Pipeline) on the 8th January, 2008 on the ground floor of the Sankung Sillah Building. It also has affiliate branches in Benin, Burkina Faso, Central Africa, Chad, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sudan and Togo.
The Gambia Government is committed to subscribing 5% equity in the BSIC of the CEN-SAD Community, which is made up of 26 countries in the region. The shares are to be acquired by the Department of State for Finance. In 1999, the governments of the CEN-SAD community signed a treaty to establish this African group of states and to establish a bank.
The company is able to provide services as a development bank for the mid- and long-term financing of development projects in collaboration with international and regional financial organisations as well as investment guarantee institutions such as the West African Bank for Development (WABD) and the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE).
